Lab Sustainability Program
About the Lab Sustainability Program
View our programs & initiatives.
The Office of Research & Economic Development is committed to making labs at Montana State University more sustainable and efficient through reducing resource use, decreasing waste, and implementing best practices and technologies. It is estimated that research laboratories can use 5-10 times more energy than office spaces and produce an estimated 4 million tons of plastic waste per year. This means that there is a lot of room for improvement!
Research Integrity & Compliance has launched several programs and initiatives to help address these concerns across campus with the goal of a more sustainable MSU research community. Please use the below links to learn more about each of our programs today.
MSU Green Labs Certification Program
Lab Sustainability recently launched a new Green Labs Certification program to incentivize researchers to become more sustainable. Join our initiative to foster sustainable labs through our new Green Labs Certification program and be recognized for your efforts.
