Certified Green Lab Program
About the program
Want to make a difference in the world of lab sustainability? The MSU Certified Green Lab Program addresses sustainable behaviors, conservation efforts, and environmentally friendly infrastructure applicable to laboratory settings. Participating in this program helps to create a culture of sustainability in your lab, and across campus.
This program runs annually in the month of February.
How to become a Green Lab at MSU
To be recognized as a certified green lab, laboratories will be assessed in accordance with the MSU Certified Green Lab check list. The certification check list is first completed by lab staff as a self-assessment. Afterwords, it can be submitted to Research Integrity & Compliance, where we will review and schedule an onsite sustainability assessment. Labs will receive a final sustainability score and be assigned either a Green, Gold or Silver certification. Re-certification will occur annually to maintain your status.
Once you have downloaded and completed the self-assessment, please email mark.dewald@montana.edu or mary.gauvin@montana.edu with your completed checklist to schedule an onsite inspection.
