Record Books

Record books are a necessary and important part of the 4-H project journey. These records help members document their project work, track activities throughout the year, highlight achievements, set goals, and reflect on what they have learned within a specific project during that 4-H year.

Record keeping builds valuable, life-long skills-- planning, organization, and self-evaluation.

Each 4-H member must complete both a "My 4-H Year" and "Project Record Book"

My 4-H Year

All sections of this record book must be completed, including three goals and signatures of both the member and the club leader. Make sure to include a picture of the member and that every section has something listed. If nothing was done in that particular section or area fo the record book make sure to write "none" or "not applicable".

We challenge members to be as detailed as possible. Make sure to include everything you did throughout the year (even if the activity isn't necessarily a 4-H specific activity, include it. We love to read what members did within the community and other activities!

Project Record Book

For every project listed in a member's "My 4-H Year" journal, a project record book must be completed.

Animal Projects

An animal record book is needed for each animal/specie related to the project this includes all livestock projects as well as cat, dog, rabbit, poultry, pocket pet, etc. In Stillwater County, we have two different record books-- one for livestock projects (cattle, sheep, swine, and goats) and one for small animals (dog, cat, rabbit, poultry, pocket pet).
