Peer Educator Application
Overview
Peer Educators will run Bystander Intervention & Consent presentations and workshops
and mentor/train new Peer Educators. Since the prevention education and outreach program
is a dynamic, robust service, Peer Educators can take on more diverse responsibilities
if they desire! Peer Educators could step into the role of event planning, digital
educational tool development, recruitment, program expansion, etc.
A minimum commitment of two academic semesters is requested. Peer Educators will receive
training on public speaking, trauma informed care, Bystander Intervention, Consent,
and Red Flags. Part of the training asynchronous and online and the rest of the training
is practicing public speaking and teaching the content with Madi Herman (Training
Development Coordinator) and fellow Peer Educators. As part of the application process,
you will need to complete an in person interview with Madi Herman.

Expectations for Peer Educators
- Complete Assigned Training
- Facilitate Bystander Intervention & Consent Workshops and Individualized Presentation
- Work a minimum of one, two-hour shift per week in the CCR office. You must be able to communicate ahead of time if you cannot make your shift.
- Support the prevention education and outreach program to reach more students, follow best practices, and impact violence prevention in a meaningful way.
- Be a positive representative of Campus Civil Rights.
- Be able to work with a variety of students, faculty, and staff in different settings to offer the best quality of education
- Be able to be professional and work with a team of both staff and other students.
