Student Health Services at MSU
Medical:
Student Health Services provides same-day appointments for acute medical needs (recent illness or injury) as well as general primary care appointments. Students are encouraged to establish with a primary care provider for management of ongoing health issues.
- All visits are provided at no-cost for students enrolled in 7+ credits, or who opt-in to the Student Health Fee.
- Services include sexual health care, women's health, medication management, acne, physicals, and mental and behavioral health appointments.
- Please note: appointments are required for all visits! Please call ahead to schedule: 406-994-2311
- X-ray services, clinical laborary, and full-service pharmacy are all on-site.
Psychiatry:
We also offer psychiatric care for students managing mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and mood concerns. Our psychiatric providers focus on evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management, and work closely with our medical team and campus counseling resources to support your overall wellbeing.
- Psychiatric services are provided at no-cost for students enrolled in 7+ credits, or who opt-in to the Student Health Fee.
- Services include psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and ongoing medication management.

If you are transferring care, please have records from your previous provider sent to us ahead of your visit. You can upload them through the patient portal or have them faxed to 406-994-2504.
Nutrition:
You relationship with food and your body has a big impact on your physical and mental health, academic experience, and social life. Nutrition services are provided at no-cost for students enrolled in 7+ credits, or who opt-in to the Student Health Fee. If you would like support finding balance with food and your body, consider an appointment with our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
Nutrition services include support of:
- Gut issues
- Medical concerns with significant nutrition implications such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol
- Generalized guidance on food and activity choices that support a thriving lifestyle
- Vegetarian or vegan diet concerns
Travel Health
Planning to travel abroad? Student Health Services offers pre-travel medical visits, physicals, and vaccination guidance to help you stay healthy during your trip. Schedule your appointment early to ensure you have the necessary immunizations for a safe journey.

Description
- Some immunizations require a prescription or may need to be ordered into the pharmacy. Please call to schedule an appointment to discuss immunization needs.
We do not perform injections for allergy desensitization.

Cost
- Cost depends on which vaccine is given.
- Student Health Services does not bill insurance for most vaccines but can provide statements for self-billed claims.
