New Norm Asbjorson College of Engineering (NACOE) Student Advising Center Location: Barnard Hall
Description of Request
Submitted By: Brett Gunnink, Dean of NACOE
The Space Management Committee recommends approval of the Norm Asbjornson College of Engineering’s request to establish a centralized Student Advising Center in Barnard Hall rooms 359–364 and 352 as part of the Barnard Hall backfill process. NACOE serves approximately 3,500 students, and its seven advisors are currently dispersed across six buildings, limiting visibility, coordination, and equitable service delivery. The proposed allocation of approximately 737 square feet will consolidate advising functions into a student-centered model that improves accessibility and operational efficiency, and approval will also return approximately 1,110 square feet of distributed office space to the University space pool for reassignment.
Resolution
Date: February 6, 2026
Space Management Committee has approved the allocation of the offices listed above to establish a new NACOE Student Advising Center in Barnard Hall.
