Mechanical Engineering Technology Program

Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) emphasizes the practical application of engineering principles to the design, development, manufacturing, operation, and improvement of products, systems, and processes. Mechanical Engineering Technology graduates utilize modern engineering tools, advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, and sustainable engineering practices to transform ideas into functional solutions. They serve a vital role in developing and optimizing products, equipment, manufacturing operations, and building energy systems in a rapidly changing technological environment.

Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) graduates bridge engineering design and practical implementation by applying engineering principles, technical expertise, and modern technologies to develop products, processes, and systems. They pursue careers in manufacturing, automation, product development, energy systems, and engineering operations, where they design components, optimize manufacturing processes, integrate automated systems, solve technical challenges, and ensure quality. 

MET graduates also contribute to the design and management of mechanical and building energy systems, including HVAC and renewable energy technologies. Mechanical Engineering Technology graduates also communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and contribute as essential members of multidisciplinary teams in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of products, processes, and systems.

MET graduates engage in life-long learning activities, and some attend graduate school. MET's contribute to industry and society through service activities and professional organizations; they fulfill their responsibilities ethically, and they enjoy good opportunities for advancement in their profession.
