Course Description
This in-person course is centered around the BPI Healthy Housing Principles certificate. Students who successfully complete the course will learn how to evaluate residential structures, recognize hazards to human health, and advise occupants on ways to potentially improve health outcomes in their home environment. The class is appropriate for students with intermediate experience in the weatherization and home performance industries. This course will be presented as a hybrid of class presentations, lab activities, and field visits. Course content, assessments, and follow-on resources will be shared on the Training Center learning management system. This class will conclude with a proctored examination of the BPI Healthy Housing Principles examination.
Course includes a printed copy of BPI's Healthy Housing Principles Reference Guide.
CEUs
This course has 15 contact hours and can qualify as 15 continuing education units (CEU) toward Home Energy Professional Recertification.

Organization of Course
This is a lecture-lab course. Most topics are covered first in the classroom and then covered again in the training lab. Student participation in discussions in the classroom and in the lab exercises is very important. This course has a written final exam and student participation is graded as pass/fail.
Grading Criteria and Passing Score (BPI Exam)
Candidates can take the 100-question BPI exam at any time. There is scheduled time at the end of this class to take the exam, but it is not required. Exams can be purchased directly though BPI or through our Training Center. The cost is $109 (free for members of the Montana WAP).
Recertification
Recertification is not required.

- $575 for the public
- Free for associates of the Montana Weatherization Workforce
