October 2024

2024 - 2025 4-H Year begins October 1, 2024 The new 4-H year begins Oct 1.  Be sure to log into 4h.zsuite.org and get signed up for the new year after Oct 1. 
2024 Achievement Day! Oct 6, 2024 Geyser School at 3pm.  We will have games, an activity, food and awards!  Please bring an old t-shirt to wear for the activity as it could get messy.
Registration Deadline for Fall Leadership Training October 18, 2024 Registration closes in zsuite on 10/18 for MT 4-H Fall Leadership Training.

November 1-3, 2024 Billings

 MT 4-H Fall Leadership Training is an event for all 4-H members who are 14 by 10/1/24 who want to grow leadership skills and meet other 4-H'ers from around the state.  Registration is on ZSuite and closes 10/18.  Fees are covered by the JB Co. 4-H Council.

 4-H Council meets at the Ext. Office in the Stanford Courthouse.  Everyone is encouraged to attend.

 Monthly Youth Leadership Academy webinar is held once a month thru March.  This webinar is open to all 4-H members who are 12+ by 10/1/24.

MT 4-H Citizenship Seminar January 20-22, 2025 MT 4-H Citizenship Seminar is held in Helena in odd years.  This event is open to all 4-H members who are 13+ by 10/1/2024.

Fair Book Cover Contest begins February 1, 2025 Fair Book Cover Contest starts.  Contest requirements published in newsletter.
Late Project Resource Orders due February 4, 2025 Final resource order will be placed on February 4, 2025.  Any resources ordered after this date will need to be ordered directly through the MSU Extension Publications Dept.

MT 4-H Scholarship Applications Due February 14, 2025 Montana 4-H Foundation Scholarship applications are due Feb 14.  All high school seniors are encouraged to apply.
Jan French Memorial Scholarship February 18, 2025 Applications will be accepted for the Jan French Memorial Scholarship beginning Feb 18.  Scholarship application details will be in the monthly newsletter.

MT 4-H Rec Lab Date TBD The MT 4-H Rec Lab will be held in March/April.  More details to come.
Swine Tags distributed to leaders   Swine tags will be distributed to club leaders in March. Tags are due to Ext. Office on 4/15/25.
Livestock Quality Assurance Training Date TBD QA Training is mandatory for during the first year of a livestock project and again during members first year in Senior Division.

Project Drop/Add Deadline June 1, 2025 The deadline for project drop / add in ZSuite is June 1.  This is a hard date.  You must complete a record book for ALL the projects you are enrolled in after June 1, 2025.  No changes will be allowed in ZSuite after June 1.
Jan French Scholarship applications due June 2, 2025 Jan French Scholarship essays are due to the Ext. Office by June 2, 2025. 
MT 4-H Pre Congress and Congress Reg closes June 15, 2025 Registration for MT 4-H Pre Congress and Congress closes June 15.  Registration link is on your ZSuite account under Events.
JB Co. Fair Entry closes June 23, 2025 Fair entry closes for the JB Co. Fair on June 23, 2025.

September 2025

Record Books Due to Club Leaders September 1, 2025 Record Books must be received by your Club Leaders no later than September 1, 2025.  This is a hard date and a record book must be turned in for all the projects you are enrolled in.  (The project drop/add deadline is June 1 in ZSuite)
Record Book Judging Date TBD Record Books received by club leaders on or before Sept. 1, 2025 will be reviewed and judged for record book awards. 
MT 4-H State Horse Competitions Dates TBD The MT 4-H Working Ranch Horse and Horse Shows will be held in September.  More info to come from MT 4-H.
