Department Assistant - Earth Sciences Department
The Earth Sciences student Department Assistant supports reception, web site and communications functions, and non-sensitive administrative tasks under the supervision of the Business Operations Manager. We seek an assistant available for 8-12 hours/week in 2 or more shifts during business hours (M-F, 8am-5pm), to be arranged around class schedules. Pay: $16 an hour.

Events Associate - ChampChange
Seeking a work-study student who has good communication skills, is organized, and likes to be creative to help with MSU'sChampChangeEngagement Program! The main responsibilities will be helping brainstorm incentive event projects, help purchase and organize items and prizes, help prep and implement the events, receive and store packages/prizes, help communicate, record data, and wrap-up events.Approximately 5 hours/week of work, however we're flexible with working less or more hours per week depending on the student's and theChampChangeProgram's needs.

Front Desk Associate - Psychology Department
The position has flexible hours supporting student studies while providing the opportunity for networking in the department. Student workers are permitted to work 20 hours per week during the school year. As a Front Desk Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional administrative support and superior customer service to our students, parents, alumni, donors and program managers. You will be the first point of contact for phone calls, emails and in-person inquiries and an expert in the services provided at the Psychology Department. Must beWork-Study eligible.
Front Desk Tasks:
· Provide information and/or resources as needed.
· Answer and resource phone calls and department general emails.
· Print and distribute marketing materials and information packets as needed.
· Assist admin staff with website maintenance, data entry, edits and development as needed.
· Mail distribution, filing and delivery as needed.
· Light cleaning includes cleaning floors, surface cleaning, breakroom and mailroom upkeep, plant watering, emptying of trash and recycling.
· Lead student visitation tours for incoming students. Provide department information, personal experience of department and Montana Stata University.

Student Assistant - Testing Services
Our Student Assistants are responsible for working with staff, faculty, and students to follow exam security procedures; maintain strict confidentiality related to exams and examinees; schedule appointments accurately; supervise examinees; uphold high quality standards in all professional communications; and offer compassionate customer service.
This opportunity is ideal for students seeking meaningful experience in a supportive environment that fits alongside their academic schedule. We're looking for student team members to join us during the academic term, working approximately 9 to 12 hours per week. Available shifts run Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, with an emphasis on coverage between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.
Job Responsibilities:
-Sign a Confidentiality Agreement and maintain strict adherence to academic honesty and exam security protocol
-Maintain a quiet, non-distracting, and welcoming environment
-Greet, direct, and assist students to ensure efficient customer service
-Respond appropriately to student inquiries regarding the various testing programs and support services
-Make appointments using digital and analog scheduling tools
-Provide administrative support (filing, making copies, answering phones, etc.) with a close attention to detail
-Maintain facilities and equipment in a clean and organized condition
-Complete records, collect and analyze data, run reports as requested
-Engage in training and approved professional development opportunities as appropriate
Required Qualifications:
-Current student in good academic standing
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse clientele
-Superior sense of personal integrity and academic honesty
Preferred Qualifications:
-Computer skills (e.g., installation, troubleshooting, graphic and web design, specialized operating or software systems, and/or computer-aided statistics)

Student Associate - Museum of the Rockies
The Museum Store is seeking a friendly, organized, and responsible MSU student to join its team. Museum of the Rockies is hailed as a premier destination for those seeking an immersive experience in the cultural and natural history of the Northern Rocky Mountain region, including a remarkable collection of dinosaur fossils. The Museum Store is a vibrant and curated retail space that offers a diverse range of unique and meaningful items inspired by the museum's exhibits and collections.
The Museum Store is open seven days a week from 10 am to 5 pm. Shifts are typically from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm with a one-hour lunch break, two additional 15-minute breaks and flexibility around student schedules.
Position Responsibilities
- Provides excellent customer service by greeting and assisting visitors
- Operates the point-of-sale system and reconciles cash drawers at the beginning and ending of shifts
- Displays, prices and restocks merchandise
- Light cleaning and organizing of the Store
- Processes store shipments and receipt of inventory
- Assists with annual inventory count
- Other duties as assigned
Pay and Benefits
- $16 per hour
- 40% store discounts
